Our Story

Awakened with a Vision

Our leader, Vicki Marsh, was awakened at 3:30 am one night in August of 2022 with an intense vision. The vision was of a Coffee House and Networking Center in our city where community could connect, resources could be shared, people could learn skills that they desperately needed and where life could be enjoyed in a safe and fun atmosphere. Vicki had some background in leadership and organization development but had never owned her own business. With a feeling of 'walking out onto the water', she gave her YES to the vision but prayed for God to lead the way. This would take much more than her own resources to develop and make a reality.

Hope & Coffee

In April of 2023 Vicki was at an event in Bethlehem PA where divine circumstances connected her to the mission of Hope and Coffee Tamaqua. This Hope & Coffee is a recovery focused coffee shop established in July 2018 offering several diverse recovery meetings every day and employing those in the recovery process. The inspirational business was founded by Lisa Scheller, a CEO of a large corporation who is herself celebrating 47 years in recovery. After several confirmations it was clear that this was exactly the connection that was needed for the vision in Coatesville.

HSI & Fiscal Sponsorship

Vicki was introduced to Humanitarian Social Innovations which is an organization that supports and serves the founders of grassroots movements and both local and global nonprofit organizations and charitable programs that improve the quality of life for humanity. They help by consolidating back-office tasks, enabling access to tax-exempt funds, and providing resources that build them as excellent organizations so that they can focus on their mission and maximize the social impact of their work. Vicki applied for sponsorship with HSI and after committee review the Hope and Coffee Coatesville program was eagerly accepted. This gave the legs needed to get things started. Launching the Mission

Now it was finally time to get the word out about the Mission of Hope and Coffee Coatesville. With the help of trusted advisors in the area, Vicki developed an extensive business plan and gathered an Advisory Committee. This committee now meets monthly to help keep things on task. Every piece is falling into place and we are looking forward to a grand opening Summer 2025. Excitement is rising all over to see this mission of Recovery and wellness come to life in Coatesville.
